Tariq Iqbal is a consultant engaged providing leading edge solutions in the Energy,
Infrastructure, Property and Natural Resources Sectors in Africa. He is also a Director of
Longido South Minerals Company whose offices are based in Arusha, Tanzania and is engaged
in Mining and Quarrying, Construction, Infrastructure Development, Agriculture and Trading.
Prior to joining his present companies, Mr. Iqbal previously worked in strategic business
development and marketing roles in the various companies, notable is his 7 years served as the
Group Supply Chain Director for Bamburi Cement/Lafarge East Africa, the largest Cement
Manufacture in the region which is part of Lafarge/Holcim Group, the largest Cement,
Concrete and Aggregates Manufacturer in the world. He was also instrumental in the startup
of Bamburi Special Products, the Concrete and Precast Concrete Manufacturing subsidiary of
Bamburi Cement which has grown to be the largest company in the industry in the region. He
also served as a member on the Lafarge Group Steercom representing Africa from 2013-2015
in developing the Supply Chain function for the group. Before joining Lafarge, Mr. Iqbal for
several years worked in different capacities with Regional and International Consulting and
Construction companies in the construction industry throughout the region in areas of Design
and Project Management.
Mr. Iqbal holds a Higher National Diploma in Construction from the Technical University of
Kenya. He currently resides in Nairobi, Kenya. He is avid sports enthusiast, and in his free
time enjoys watching all kinds of sports having represented his country in both Hockey and
Cricket world cups from 1996 to date, first as a playing member and later as part of the team
management
